Our New Series: You Can Be Made New!
| The book of Romans is considered by many to be the crowning work of the Apostle Paul. In it, he lays out the gospel in the most full manner found in the New Testament. At the heart of this great book stands chapters 5 through 8 where Paul talks about how people can be made new. The apostle drills into topics like what it means that we are at complete peace with God and how the Holy Spirit works to bring change in the human heart. Join us for this series that will carry us to Easter. Hollis and Mark are encouraging the congregation to read along with this study. Read the first five chapters of the book of Romans as preparation for the series that begins this weekend with Mark bringing the message Getting Beneath the Veneer. |

NCC and the Missions Team has in place a structure that allows anyone, with the desire and passion to serve others, a range of opportunities, serving local, regional and international needs. We have strategically created partnerships with effective and sustainable ministries that you can come along side and serve. They, in turn, have much they would like to teach you about their passions and people they serve. Our Core Values are: -- Work with existing effective sustainable ministries -- Advance these partnerships -- Seek Gospel transformation -- Be relationship based vs. project based
Partnerships: In order to give you a simple picture our partnerships are broken down into three main categories: -- Local – Ministries that we can serve that are in our immediate community. -- Regional/Cross Cultural – Ministries that are outside of our immediate community or that serve cross culturally -- International – Out of country ministries that bring the Gospel to unreached people groups
Serving Opportunities: Each of our partnerships has an NCC member “Champion” who is passionate about that ministry and understands the needs and opportunities for service. If you have a desire to serve others we’d love to meet or talk with you about your desire and passions and connect you with one of our “Partners”.

Covenant Membership At NCC

“... Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” Titus 2:13
Notice that the purpose of Christ’s death on the cross was not just to save isolated individuals. Rather, it was to create a community on earth that would become God’s presence and force to advance his mission in the world. The church is that “new community” that is central to God’s purpose. At NCC it is embodied in our mission statement and in our membership covenant. Membership is far more than a meaningless formality; it is a covenant relationship. It expresses a desire to become part of a community that is committed to Christ, to each other, and to God’s mission in the world.
The next opportunity to more fully understand this relationship is at the Covenant Membership Orientation on Sunday, February 21 from 12:15 to 2:30 p.m. Register at the Welcome Center or call the church office. Lunch and child care are available. |

Care Response Team Update
The mission of the Care Response Team (CRT) at New Community Church is to provide Christian care giving for an immediate need or crisis, resources for sustaining care and training to equip others for the future. Their mission field is to take care of our members, their loved ones, and their caregivers who have been affected by a serious medical condition or other crises.
The CRT is composed of several teams that show the love of Christ to those who are suffering by making a hospital visit, giving them a ride to the doctor’s office, providing a meal, praying for their situation, fixing what’s broken around their house, and so on. The person or family may be members of our church, their parents, neighbor, or co-worker. Our goal is to reach out to others in crises.
Requests come in from small groups that cannot provide the support that is needed, phone calls to the church office, referrals by the pastors, and contact cards.
The Prayer Team receives these medical and non-medical requests and prays daily for each concern. The members keep these requests confidential at all times. If you know of someone in need, be sure to let us know by submitting a contact card or calling the church office.

There are two studies to choose from, The Great Adventure or The Quest for Authentic Manhood, both with no homework or advance preparation! The men meet every Saturday morning at 7 a.m. Sign up today at the Welcome Center, call the church office, or just show up on Saturday. |

What an exciting year 2009 turned out to be! Strong spiritual growth and deepening commitments to our Lord were evidenced by the increase in Covenant Membership, strong participation in Compassion Days, and personal testimonies from the 40 Days of Community. Led by God’s Spirit, our church leadership felt it was the right time to challenge more of our congregation to begin giving in a truly biblical way – by tithing 10% of their income (Leviticus 27, Numbers 18, Malachi 3.) If enough people would begin biblical tithing, a financial campaign would no longer be necessary to cover our normal operating expenses.
“Normal operating expenses” cover a wide array of items necessary to the ministries of our church. These include mortgage payments, missions, personnel, utilities, communications, and supplies necessary for all of New Community’s ministries. We are now 3 weeks into the new year and giving has fallen significantly short of our need. If this continues over the next few weeks, we will need to begin making reductions in our expenses in order to be good stewards of the resources God has provided.
Many of you give biblically already and we thank you for your faithfulness. We all need to be on our knees, humbly asking our Father to show us how we can be the church He has called and gifted us to be. If you have not been tithing, please prayerfully consider what God may be asking you to do to give biblically in 2010. |

| It’s simple. Online Giving allows your weekly or monthly contributions to be transferred electronically from your checking or savings account, or your credit card directly into the church account. While away on vacation, you have peace of mind knowing that your offering or pledge has been received and is contributing to the work of the church. This is especially helpful during summer months! One easy to use authorization form can start or change your electronic contribution amount. The authorization form is available by contacting Gitti Hajduk at the office (724-935-0909) or completing it online at our Web site. |
