Care Response Team Mission - The Care Response Team (CRT) exists to provide Christian Care giving for an immediate need or crisis, resources for sustaining care and training to equip others for the future.
The practical purpose for the CRT was formed to look-after seriously ill or injured people and their caregivers. Our role has expanded to include serious non-medical needs as well.
CRT helps anyone at NCC who is not in a small group or the team can supplement small group care when a group member has a long term need.
Contact the church office if you want to refer someone to the CRT or if you would like to volunteer to serve on the team.
The Care Response Team is currently coordinating the following ministries.
• Prayer Team – Responds to specific prayer requests. Team members confidentially pray for medical and non-medical situations. If you have a prayer request, please call (724.935.0909) or e-mail (genmail@new-communitychurch.org) the church office.
• Meal Team - Provides meals to families during and after a crisis. Volunteers prepare, purchase and/or deliver meals.
• Helping Hands Team – Assists those in need with housekeeping, home repairs, auto repairs, and other needs of that kind.
• Visitation Team – Supports through hospital visits, hospice, nursing home or home visitation of sick or shut-ins.
• Transportation Team – Assists through driving those in need to necessary appointments, shopping, or other errands.
• Sunday Shuttle Drivers – Provide regular Sunday transportation for individuals who would like to attend NCC but are unable to drive. (Currently bringing residents from Pristine Pines Assisted Living in Franklin Park to and from church.)
Matthew 25: 35-36 - For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’
